My wife has been working very hard on programming a website for the Hampden County Mothers of Twins Club. She has been an active member since our twins were born in June of 2003. This year she will be president of the club. I am very proud of what she has achieved.

Olives April 6, 2007

Can anyone explain to me why you can only get green olives in a jar and you can only get black olives in a can. I wish you could get both green and black olives in a jar. That would be pretty sweet. It is a mystery.
The Wreckers March 26, 2007

I went to a Boston Bruins hockey game last Thursday and The Wreckers did a free concert after the game. (The Bruins are terrible and they needed to do something to get people in the stands). I decided to buy the CD since I liked the song on the radio, I like Michelle Branch (I have her solo CD), and I thought the wife would enjoy it since it’s country.
I am extremely PISSED OFF that I can’t play the CD in my computer or RIP it to my iPod. Apparently it is some sort of copy protection. Now I remember why I stopped buying CD’s for three years. I am going to try and find the receipt and return it to Target. If anyone knows a hack to get around this please let me know. Until then, buyer beware!
I support the Pope and I demand an apology. September 16, 2006

For the third day today, violence, outrage and condemnation are being spewed by followers of the so called “Religion of Peace”. Muslims across the world set aside their sectarian differences to demand an apology directly from the Pope. Last week, Pope Benedict XVI was at a German University where he quoted a conversation between a Byzantine Christian Emperor and a Persian scholar on the truths of Christianity and Islam.
The quote that has enraged the Muslem world and threatens to bring us closer to an all out holy war is the following:
Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.
The Pope had every right to make his comments and I sincerely hope he does not apologize for his remarks. This outrageous double standard has to end. Why is it that an Imam from Saudi Arabia or Iran can spout all kinds of hate towards Americans, Jews, and Christians but a cartoon in a DANISH Newspaper is punishable by death.
It is time the world stands up to these people. The schlors and so called “moderate” leaders of Islamic nations need stop the violence. Period. The free world cannot let these leaders be controlled by Islamic fascists who would kill anyone who says something contrary to their beliefs.
Since people are in such a demanding mood lately, I have a few of my own.
- I demand an appology from the govenrment of Sudan for allowing the systematic campaign of rape, torture, and killing of hundreds of thousands of non-Arab women and children.
- I demand an apology from the kidnappers of Steve Centanni and Olaf Wiig. I also demand that leaders of the Muslim world universally condemn the forced conversion to Islam of these two brave men.
- I demand to see and hear public outrage from the EU and the Muslim world over the atrocities perpetrated in the name of Allah. Including but not limited to the attacks on 9-11, the horrific death of Nick Berg, the Madrid bombings, the London bombings, the Bali bombings, the attacks on US Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, the attack on the USS Cole, and the attack on US bases in Saudi Arabia.
My 9-11 Tribute September 11, 2006
Posted by KG in Three Questions.1 comment so far
It is easy to feel consumed by loathing and hatred towards the cowards who murder innocent men, women and children in the name of Allah. Yet, on this five year anniversary of 9-11, I am choosing to remember the brave Americans who selflessly give their lives to serve and protect our great nation. Today I would like to honor a true American Patriot and Hero.
Lt. Kevin Pfeifer

The New York Times profiled Lt. Pfeifer in 2001. Here is what they had to say:
Shouting With His Life
To the casual acquaintance, Kevin Pfeifer had a manner ‹ a quiet, thoughtful demeanor ‹ that seemed of a piece with all the philosophy courses he took at Marist College. His gift for abstractions, though, was far exceeded by his taste for the concrete. And adventure.
He learned to fly, and logged 400 hours of flying time. He learned to sail, and loved to bring his friends out to race the tankers around Sandy Hook or his nieces and nephews out on Jamaica Bay. He loved to drive, and managed to sneak onto the secure grounds at Kennedy Airport, where he sped along a runway.
Mr. Pfeifer, 42, shouted with his life, not with his mouth. Growing up in Middle Village, in Queens, and spending many summer days in Breezy Point, he developed a close circle of friends who ate at Beefsteak Charlie’s and joined him for his capers on the ground, at sea, in the air. He knew that fun was where you made it: he organized a legendary bash at an abandoned missile silo near Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn.
In Mr. Pfeifer’s work as a city paramedic and later as a fire lieutenant, he had a knack for quietly bringing out the best in people, his brother Joseph said. Joseph Pfeifer was among the first battalion chiefs at the trade center on Sept. 11. He spotted his brother coming in with Engine Company 33, and the two Pfeifers exchanged a quick word, and then glances as they parted.
Other comments left for Lt. Kevin Pfeifer can be read here:

While I didn’t personally know Lt. Pfeifer I can honestly say he is one of my hero’s. I will keep his memory alive in my heart until the day I die. One day perhaps I will be lucky enough to meet him in heaven.

Letter to Bill O’Reilly September 6, 2006
Posted by KG in Three Questions.1 comment so far
Today I E-Mailed Bill O’Reilly a comment on a guest he had on his prime time show “The O’Reilly Factor” (which I TiVo everynight). It was the first time I ever felt compelled to get off my butt and respond to something I saw on TV or in print. He had Governor Mitt Romney of Massachusetts on explaining why he wanted to deny the former president of Iran tax payer funded police escorts to a speaking engagement at Harvard University. Romney was right on the money when he said that this man, Khatami, has been engaged in the spread of violent Jihad and an enabler of internationl terrorism. He is a breath of fresh air for us mere civilians who are used to hearing pollitically correct nonsence spewed from politicians across the country.
Here is a link to what Romeny said in his press release.
This is what I sent, hopefully Bill will read it on the air:
Bill,
Governor Romney deserves a lot of credit for denying Khatami, the international terrorist supporter and violent jihad enabler, taxpayer money and safe transport to Harvard University. Finally, a politician that makes me proud to live in Massachusetts.
Kind Regards,
Devin311
UPDATE: Bill read my E-Mail on his program the following night! Whoo hoo, I’m famous!
Three Questions August 31, 2006

- Why is it so hard to manage all of my on-line portals / blogs / web pages / favorite sites, etc..? There has to be a better way or organizing and accessing all of the things I go to each day. For example, I would like to have a single portal which could give me access to my Netflix Movies, MySpace, 43things, eBay, and all my favorite Video Blog sites? It shouldn’t take a degree in computer science to make this a reality.
- What could you do with your life in two and a half years? A new study in the UK shows that women spend over two years of their life primping, ironing, washing, and drying their HAIR!
- Whats next for IRAN? President Ahmadinejad flipped the world off today ignoring UN demands that his country give up uranium enrichment. Will Russia and China live up to their agreements to impose sanctions or will they support Iran? For me, this is the last chance for the UN to come together and make a positive difference for world security. They either get a backbone and impose tough sanctions or they crumble under the weight of incompetency.

- Why haven’t we killed or captured (preferable) Osama Bin Ladin?
- Are we headed for WWIII or has it already started?
- Is Saddam Hussein a closet South Park fan or have we been <gasp> making him watch the South Park Movie against his will?
